Personal Kiatsu Program

Ki does not flow well in a person who is ill or injured. Kiatsu mobilizes a person's natural healing processes by restoring the flow of living energy. Ki pressing improves circulation, reduces tension, and enhances health. It also helps reduce or eliminate pain, stiffness, and swelling caused by stress or minor injury.

The Personal Kiatsu program provides a formalized approach to learning the universal principals of Ki. Students learn Kiatsu and Ki principles for improving health, increasing relaxation, and enhancing their daily lives. After students accomplish these goals for themselves, they can practice Kiatsu to enhance their health.

The purpose of personal Kiatsu training is to develop our living power by utilizing Ki Principles, coordinating mind and body, and applying them to our daily life.

About the Personal Kiatsu Program

Vancouver's Personal Kiastu Program is offered as a satellite program through the Northwest Ki Federation and the Oregon Ki Society's Personal Kiatsu School.

The Oregon Ki Society's Personal Kiatsu School opened in February 1993 to teach Master Koichi Tohei's methods for promoting physical and mental health.

The school is the first in the world to offer the opportunity to learn Ki pressing techniques and Ki principles as a complete development program. Developed with the cooperation of Master Tohei, the Personal Kiatsu School is fully accredited by the Ki Society International Headquarters in Japan.

Personal Kiatsu Program Details

  • The Personal Kiatsu Program is offered in an intensive, 2 year format.
  • Students are expected to attend a minimum of 4 weekend seminars per year. There will be 4 seminars per year offered in Vancouver and 5 per year in Portland. All seminar tuition is included in the program costs (except travel costs).
  • Students must attend a minimum of one 3 hour Kiatsu/Ki Development Class at the Vancouver Ki Society dojo once every 2 weeks. These classes will be held weekly so there is opportunity to attend more classes. These classes will be taught by the Chief Instructor of the Vancouver Ki Society.
  • The Personal Kiatsu Program is limited to 15 participants. The first group is full. Our intention is to start a new Personal Kiatsu group every 6 to 12 months, depending on interest.

If you are interested in the Personal Kiatsu Program you are encouraged to attend Ki development classes and join the Ki Society as a Ki Student or Ki Aikido student.

Ki Students are welcome to participate in all regular classes; however, only registered members of the Personal Kiatsu Program can attend the weekend Personal Kiatsu seminars and obtain certification.
